It has become a habit of mine to ask men who approach me with "lines" like this if it has ever actually worked for them... a practice I should stop immediately because the response sometimes leaves me with such intense fear for the future and shame that I don't know what I do with myself.
I'm all about casual sex if both parties consent and it is mutually beneficial. I'm all about men and women going out and getting what it is they want and desire from every relationship. But I cannot for the life of me understand how this approach appeals to anyone. Maybe there is something severely lacking in my sexual past, but I can't imagine ever being so into oral sex that I respond positively to a man who wants to eat his way into my heart.
Maybe I've just been hit on by one too many men who make me think they might actually want to eat me to be interested. Clearly online dating has begun damaging my perception of the world, especially when it comes to eating anything.
Not to mention... "Want ur box eaten then?" is the second most unsexy approach to getting a face full of my nether regions I've ever heard, right after the first thing this guy said to me.

No, this is not the douchiest first message I've ever gotten and honestly the conversation that followed really and truly wasn't bad and he seems interesting enough. I'm honestly tempted to meet up with this guy but damn dude...do you think you could approach me like a grown woman instead of a snack food? I just can't get over that part. Don't get me wrong, there is something to be said for a man who looks at you like he wants to eat you, but on the internet it is hard to tell if it is a Hannibal Lector thing or a sex thing.

Another creepy guy named Mike who fooled me with seemingly normal conversation for about 5 messages. This really wasn't too bad, it was pretty mild actually. It was when I kept talking to him that I started to get creeped out. Mike is into trampling...information which he volunteered out of the blue. Then he wants to meet up and instead of being 9 hours away like his profile says, he's really only 3 hours away and kept insisting that is what is profile said. You know... because I can't read or something. And that is when I stopped talking to him. I should have stopped right away but...sometimes I like to give people rope and see what they do with it.

And then Shawn, the good looking guy who quoted "Silence of the Lambs" as his headline in this post from yesterday, sent me this charming first message. This annoys the fuck out of me. There. I said it. I'm lucky enough that most dating sites don't allow people to send pics in their messages. But on my list of "Irritating First Messages" it would win second place right after THIS QUESTION and let's not even talk about those people who send creepy, close up shots of their genitals.
I don't get it. I really, really don't.
I didn't respond. Shawn/Buffalo Bill deleted his profile within 15 minutes.

I found Shawn on Tinder. He was really cute. I wish I would have read this headline before I swiped left. Anyone who quotes Silence of the Lambs in the headline on an online dating site should probably be avoided. And then he sent me a message... check in tomorrow for that one.
